Taking a very much needed chill day, we had only one activity on the itinerary today—visiting the Uffizi Gallery!

“ ...some very beautiful statues offering hyper realistic stone clothes and details that are unremarkable to think are made our of stone. "
Cultural Excursion in Florence
Jill and I picked up some morning coffees and pastries from a nearby cafe that had a great vegan selection. After breakfast at our airbnb home, we made our way to the Uffizi, which was only about a 10 minute walk away.
At the Uffizi we saw artwork by some of the greatest artists of all time. Mostly, heavily religious pieces, depicting Mary and Jesus, but also some very beautiful statues offering hyper realistic stone clothes and details that are unremarkable to think are made our of stone.
“ For dinner we did a classic "wander-around" until we spotted a sign that caught our eyes... "
A Day to Decompress…
After seeing Botticelli's Birth of Venus and other famous art pieces by Medici, we started to source a lunch spot. Wondering into an Italian deli/restaurant Viv and I got some delicious (and big) Florence style prositto filled sandwiches and Jill got pesto pasta to go.

We stopped at the supermarket for some Nutella snacks and juice before making our way back home. Once back the airbnb, the three of us dined on our lunches and looked forward to a day of no activities—just reenergizing, scrapbooking, reading, and of course blogging!
Flashback to Jill’s birthday in May, Viv gifted her "A Throne of Glass"—The first book of a series Viv wanted to share her love for. So, Jill brought this book expecting to read it over the whole trip but instantly fell in love with it and has been zooming through it! So, after lunch Jill got to reading, Viv picked out a book from the shelf of the airbnb, "Nine Perfect Strangers" and I tried to get some more blogs out for all you lovely readers & for us three to look back on in the future.

For dinner we did a classic "wander-around" until we spotted a sign that caught our eyes. The sign read
“garden in the back,” so we checked out the menu and decided to dine there. We followed the waiter to the back garden where Viv and I shared some octopus and each had our own Italian style mains (pasta, rossito, and salmon)
We ended the day there, as we headed back to our airbnb after dinner and then to bed—pumped for a very excited Italian activity filled day tomorrow.
